What to Know

After a three-game homestand, the Houston Rockets will be on the road. The Rockets and the Memphis Grizzlies will face off in a Southwest Division battle at 8 p.m. ET Monday at FedExForum. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Houston suffered a grim 115-89 defeat to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Shooting guard Jalen Green had a pretty forgettable game, picking up four fouls and turning the ball over four times en route to a 4-for-14, 12-point finish.

Meanwhile, Memphis lost to the New Orleans Pelicans on the road by a decisive 112-101 margin. Point guard Ja Morant put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost posted a triple-double on 22 points, ten assists, and nine boards.

The Rockets have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 11 point spread they are up against. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the squad has let down bettors in their past three games.

Houston is now 1-12 while the Grizz sits at 6-7. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: Houston has allowed their opponents an average of 11.2 steals per game, the most in the league. To make matters even worse for Houston, the Grizz ranks third in the league when it comes to steals per game, with 9.85 on average. In other words, the Rockets will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
