Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt: How to watch, schedule, live stream info, game time, TV channel

Through 1 Quarter

The Ole Miss Rebels are ahead after one, as expected, but they’ll have to keep working the rest of the way. They have jumped out to a quick 10-3 lead against the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Ole Miss has been riding high on the performance of QB Matt Corral, who has passed for one TD and 133 yards on 14 attempts in addition to picking up 31 yards on the ground. Vanderbilt has been led by RB Rocko Griffin Jr., who so far has picked up 37 yards on the ground on six carries.

What to Know

After a three-game homestand, the Vanderbilt Commodores will be on the road. Vanderbilt and the Ole Miss Rebels will face off in an SEC battle at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at Hollingsworth Field. Ole Miss will be strutting in after a win while the Commodores will be stumbling in from a loss.

The contest between Vanderbilt and the Kentucky Wildcats last week was not particularly close, with Vanderbilt falling 34-17. Vanderbilt was down 31-11 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for Vanderbilt, but they got scores from WR Chris Pierce Jr. and WR Amir Abdur-Rahman.

Meanwhile, the Rebels beat the Texas A&M Aggies 29-19 last week. RB Jerrion Ealy was the offensive standout of the game for Ole Miss, picking up 150 yards on the ground on 23 carries. Ealy’s longest run was for 53 yards in the second quarter.

Vanderbilt have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 35.50 point spread they are up against. They hadn’t treated bettors all too well in the past (they are 3-6), but they might be worth taking a chance on now after beating the spread two games in a row.

Vanderbilt is now 2-8 while Ole Miss sits at a mirror-image 8-2. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Commodores are stumbling into the matchup with the 242nd most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 25 on the season. The Rebels have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 225th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 22 on the season. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
