Georgia defensive lineman Jordan Davis played his final game in Athens on Saturday, and his Senior Day farewell was as big as his 6-6, 340-pound frame. The Charlotte, N.C. native scored his first career rushing touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 56-7 blowout of Charleston Southern then led Georgia’s band after the game.

The touchdown came midway through the first quarter, when Davis lined up as an extra blocker before motioning into the backfield. Davis then took a handoff from quarterback Stetson Bennett and plunged over his offensive linemen for a one-yard score.

Davis’ Senior Day celebration only began with his touchdown. After Georgia secured its blowout win, Davis rose onto the marching band podium and led the pep band as smoothly as if he were leading the Dawgs’ defense.

While Saturday was especially special to Davis, it’s been a season to remember overall for the big man. Davis, CBS Sports’ 19th-ranked NFL Draft prospect, is a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award and Outland Trophy. His imposing presence at the line of scrimmage helped Georgia rank first in scoring defense and second in total defense through 10 games.

No. 1 Georgia (11-0) will close its regular season on the road against Georgia Tech (3-7) next Saturday at noon ET.
