Who’s Playing
Southern @ Nebraska
Current Records: Southern 1-3; Nebraska 2-2
What to Know
The Southern Jaguars’ road trip will continue as they head to Pinnacle Bank Arena at 4 p.m. ET Sunday to face off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Nebraska will be strutting in after a victory while the Jaguars will be stumbling in from a loss.
Southern was close but no cigar this past Friday as they fell 71-68 to the South Dakota Coyotes.
Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the contest between Nebraska and the Idaho State Bengals this past Friday was still a pretty decisive one as Nebraska wrapped it up with a 78-60 win at home. Four players on Nebraska scored in the double digits: forward Derrick Walker (14), guard Alonzo Verge Jr. (11), guard Keisei Tominaga (11), and guard C.J. Wilcher (10).
Southern is the clear underdog, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 3-1 against the spread when expected to lose.
The Jaguars are now 1-3 while the Cornhuskers sit at 2-2. Nebraska is 0-1 after wins this year, and Southern is 1-1 after losses.
