Kyler Murray may have been an MVP front-runner during the Cardinals‘ 7-0 start this season, but since then, availability — let alone MVP production — has been hard to come by for the star quarterback. The Cardinals officially listed Murray as inactive ahead of Sunday’s divisional showdown with the Seahawks. Still recovering from a high-ankle sprain suffered against the Packers back in Week 8, Murray will sit in place of veteran backup Colt McCoy for a third straight game.

The Cardinals have gone 1-1 in Murray’s absence to this point, with McCoy helping lead a 31-17 victory over the 49ers in Week 9 but struggling in a 34-10 loss to the Panthers in Week 10. Murray, meanwhile, hasn’t delivered a winning performance for Arizona since Oct. 24, when the Cardinals routed the Texans, 31-5. He’s not officially been ruled out early for Arizona’s contests since then, always reportedly preparing to be a game-time decision, but high-ankle sprains have typically required weeks of rehab.

The Cardinals (8-2) will look to remain atop the NFC West against Seattle (3-6) on Sunday. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are looking to rebound from a shutout loss to the Packers while staying alive in the wild card race.
