When NBA and Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash in January 2020, he left behind his wife Vanessa Bryant and three children, Natalia, Bianca and Capri. Bryant died alongside his other daughter Gianna and seven others that were in the helicopter.
Kobe was a proud father and was frequently at Gianna’s basketball games.With Kobe no longer around for his girls, his longtime friend and former Lakers teammate Pau Gasol has stepped in and made a continued effort to be there for the Bryant family.
On Sunday, Gasol was seen playing basketball with Kobe’s two youngest daughters at the Lakers practice facility. Vanessa Bryant posted this video on Instagram:
Gasol was showing off his dribbling skills while the kids were playing defense. It was difficult for the tiny ballers to stop the 7-foot-1 41-year-old, but the girls put in their best effort. Gasol was cheering them on.
The Bryant girls were joined by Gasol’s young daughter, who is named after Gianna. Gasol has been spotted spending lots of time with the Bryant family, from boat rides to golfing with the family. Lakers GM and Kobe’s former agent Rob Pelinka was also shooting around with the Bryants and Gasols over the weekend.
