Who’s Playing
Florida A&M @ Texas-El Paso
Current Records: Florida A&M 1-2; Texas-El Paso 3-2
What to Know
The Florida A&M Rattlers will hit the road for the second straight game as they head to Don Haskins Center at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Things couldn’t have gone much worse for Florida A&M as they lost 86-59 to the Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes on Sunday. The Rattlers were surely aware of their 16.5-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result. Florida A&M’s defeat came about despite a quality game from forward DJ Jones, who had 24 points along with eight rebounds.
As for the Texas-El Paso Miners, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. On Monday, they lost to the California Riverside Highlanders at home by a decisive 52-40 margin.
The losses put Florida A&M at 1-2 and the Miners at 3-2. Neither Florida A&M (1-0 after losses) nor Texas-El Paso (also 1-0) has made a habit of hanging their heads after losses this season, so another slip-up will be unusual territory for either squad.
