Who’s Playing
New Mexico @ Towson
Current Records: New Mexico 4-2; Towson 3-3
What to Know
The New Mexico Lobos will square off against the Towson Tigers at 9 p.m. ET on Friday at Orleans Arena. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
It looks like the Lobos got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. On Thursday, they lost to the UAB Blazers by a decisive 86-73 margin. One thing holding New Mexico back was the mediocre play of guard Jaelen House, who did not have his best game: he finished with 12 points on 4-for-15 shooting and turned the ball over seven times in his 36 minutes on the court.
As for Towson, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They fell to the San Francisco Dons 71-61.
Barring any buzzer beaters, New Mexico is expected to win a tight contest. Those burned by picking them against the spread on Thursday might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
The losses put New Mexico at 4-2 and Towson at 3-3. Neither the Lobos (1-0 after losses) nor the Tigers ( 2-0) has made a habit of hanging their heads after losses this season, so another slip-up will be unusual territory for either team.
