What to Know
The San Diego Christian Hawks’ road trip will continue as they head to CBU Events Center at 10 p.m. ET this past Saturday to face off against the California Baptist Lancers. Both teams were wiped off the court in their previous games and will be looking to bounce back in a big way.
San Diego Christian was pulverized by the California-San Diego Tritons 97-60 two weeks ago.
As for California Baptist, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They suffered a grim 68-44 defeat to the Texas Longhorns this past Wednesday. The Lancers were surely aware of their 22-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result. One thing holding California Baptist back was the mediocre play of guard Taran Armstrong, who did not have his best game: he played for 33 minutes but put up just six points on 3-for-10 shooting and seven turnovers.
San Diego Christian took a serious blow against California Baptist when the two teams previously met in January, falling 89-37. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll soon find out.
