Who’s Playing

Golden State @ Phoenix

Current Records: Golden State 18-2; Phoenix 17-3

What to Know

The Phoenix Suns are 5-18 against the Golden State Warriors since November of 2015, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Tuesday. Phoenix will take on Golden State at 10 p.m. ET at Footprint Center after having had a few days off. The Suns are out to stop a 12-game streak of losses at home.

Phoenix didn’t have too much breathing room in their game with the Brooklyn Nets this past Saturday, but they still walked away with a 113-107 win. It was another big night for Phoenix’s shooting guard Devin Booker, who had 30 points. Booker’s night made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 30 points.

Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the matchup between the Dubs and the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday was still a pretty decisive one as Golden State wrapped it up with a 105-90 victory on the road. The Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry did his thing and shot 7-for-13 from downtown and finished with 33 points, six assists and six steals.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Suns are expected to win a tight contest. They are currently two-for-two against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.

Phoenix is now 17-3 while the Dubs sit at 18-2. Two stats to keep an eye on: Phoenix enters the contest with a 48.10% field goal percentage, which is the best in the league. But Golden State have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 41.90%, which places them first in the league. We’ll see which of these strengths — offense or defense — will win out.
