What to know about the Thunder

The matchup between Oklahoma City and Houston on Monday was not particularly close, with Oklahoma City falling 102-89. Small forward Luguentz Dort wasn’t much of a difference maker for Oklahoma City; Dort finished with only seven points on 3-for-10 shooting in his 25 minutes on the court. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC with 22 points but he was the only starter in double-figures.

The Thunder are solid defensively, ranking 13th in defensive ranking as they allow 1.07 points per possession. But they are really struggling offensively as OKC ranks last in both offensive rating and points per game. The Thunder will be missing a couple of frontcourt players on Wednesday as Derrick Favors (illness) and Kenrich Williams (ankle) are both out.

What to know about the Rockets

Christian Wood had a monster game in Houston’s win over OKC as he posted 24 points and a career-high of 21 rebounds. Kevin Porter Jr. just missed getting his first triple-double as he posted 11 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. All five Rockets’ starters scored in double-figures as did Danuel House (12 points) off the bench.

Blessed with a young roster, Houston plays with the fastest pace in the NBA. No team gets to the line more than the Rockets who attempt 23.7 free throws per game. However, Houston ranks 29th in the league in free throw percentage at just 68.9 percent, so it isn’t taking advantage of all of the trips to the line.
