The #11 Arizona Wildcats are 9-1 against the Oregon State Beavers since January of 2016, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success on Sunday. Arizona and Oregon State will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 4 p.m. ET at Gill Coliseum. The Wildcats won both of their matches against Oregon State last season (98-64 and 70-61) and are aiming for the same result this time around.
If there were any doubts why Arizona was a heavy favorite Saturday, the team quickly laid those doubts to rest. They steamrolled past the Sacramento State Hornets 105-59 at home. Arizona got their victory on the backs of several key players, and it was forward Azuolas Tubelis out in front picking up 22 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Beavers received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 73-61 to the California Golden Bears. A silver lining for Oregon State was the play of forward Warith Alatishe, who had 21 points in addition to eight boards.
The Wildcats are now a perfect 6-0 while Oregon State sits at 1-7. Two offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Arizona enters the matchup with 91.5 points per game on average, good for third best in college basketball. On the other end of the spectrum, the Beavers are stumbling into the game with the 53rd fewest points per game in college basketball, having accrued only 65.1 on average.
