Who’s Playing
Denver @ Texas State-San Marcos
Current Records: Denver 3-6; Texas State-San Marcos 5-2
What to Know
The Denver Pioneers are staying on the road Sunday to face off against the Texas State-San Marcos Bobcats at 2 p.m. ET Dec. 5 at Strahan Coliseum. The Pioneers will be seeking to avenge the 70-68 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Dec. 19 of last year.
The game between Denver and the Wyoming Cowboys this past Thursday was not a total blowout, but with Denver falling 77-64 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. One thing holding Denver back was the mediocre play of guard KJ Hunt, who did not have his best game: he finished with only eight points on 2-for-13 shooting in his 31 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, Texas State-San Marcos didn’t have too much trouble with the Rice Owls on the road last week as they won 80-69.
Denver is the clear underdog, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a five-game streak of ATS wins.
Texas State-San Marcos’ victory lifted them to 5-2 while Denver’s loss dropped them down to 3-6. We’ll see if the Bobcats can repeat their recent success or if the Pioneers bounce back and reverse their fortune.
