Who’s Playing
Boise State @ Northridge
Current Records: Boise State 4-4; Northridge 3-4
What to Know
After two games on the road, the Northridge Matadors are heading back home. They will square off against the Boise State Broncos at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Matadome. Boise State will be strutting in after a win while the Matadors will be stumbling in from a loss.
This past Saturday, Northridge lost to the Fresno State Bulldogs on the road by a decisive 61-43 margin. Guard Brendan Harrick had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only six points on 2-for-13 shooting and turning the ball over four times in his 37 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn’t a dominant performance, the Broncos beat the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 63-58 last week. Boise State got double-digit scores from four players: guard Marcus Shaver Jr. (17), forward Abu Kigab (17), guard Emmanuel Akot (12), and forward Tyson Degenhart (11).
Northridge have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 13.50 point spread they are up against. Those burned by picking them against the spread this past Saturday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
Northridge is now 3-4 while Boise State sits at 4-4. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: The Matadors are stumbling into the matchup with the 350th fewest points per game in college basketball, having accrued only 57.8 on average. The Broncos’ defense has more to brag about, as they they rank 27th in college basketball when it comes to points allowed per game, with only 59 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
