Games between the Golden State Warriors and Charlotte Hornets already come with plenty of storylines. Stephen Curry grew up in Charlotte as his father, Dell Curry, played for the Hornets and now calls their games on television. The Warriors could have selected Hornets guard LaMelo Ball No. 2 overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, but instead chose James Wiseman. Now, we can add another storyline to the list: Miles Bridges‘ quest to dunk on Draymond Green

The Hornets forward who has dunked on just about every top defender in basketball appeared on ESPN’s “NBA Today” Tuesday and said Green is the next player he hopes to victimize at the rim. “One person I really want to get is Draymond because he continues to talk stuff to me,” Bridges said. “Every time he sees me going for a dunk, he tries to foul me.”

While Bridges may indeed want to dunk on Green, his tone was lighthearted. He noted that while Green talks plenty of trash, the two are both Michigan natives who played collegiately at Michigan State. That connection between the two makes this more of a friendly competition than a genuine vendetta.

Still, uncorking a dunk on the NBA‘s best defender would be a remarkable achievement for Bridges in his breakout fourth season. Green isn’t quite the same rim deterrent as some of his bigger front-court counterparts, but he’s still one of the best defensive players in NBA history. Not many players can claim to have posterized someone like that, and if Bridges could pull it off, it would immediately become one of the greatest of his many highlight slams.
