After a three-game homestand, the #1 Purdue Boilermakers will be on the road. Purdue and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will face off in a Big Ten battle at 7 p.m. ET Thursday at Jersey Mike’s Arena. The Boilermakers haven’t won a game against RU since Jan. 15 of 2019, but they’ll be looking to end the drought.
Purdue beat the Iowa Hawkeyes 77-70 last week. The top scorer for Purdue was guard Jaden Ivey (19 points).
Meanwhile, there’s no need to mince words: RU lost to the Illinois Fighting Illini last Friday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 86-51. Guard Paul Mulcahy just could not get things rolling his way, finishing with only four points on 2-for-11 shooting in his 26 minutes on the court.
The Boilermakers are the favorite in this one, with an expected 12-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread last Friday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
