Aaron Rodgers didn’t perform like a quarterback who had an injured toe in Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears, yet the Green Bay Packers signal caller admitted he was in pain throughout the performance. Rodgers went 29 of 37 for 341 yards with four touchdowns to zero interceptions (141.1 passer rating) — all on an injured toe that he aggravated as the game went along.

“It feels worse,” Rodgers said after the game. “I don’t know what kind of setback that I had tonight, but we will look at it tomorrow, but I definitely took a step back tonight.”

Rodgers isn’t ruling surgery out to get the problem fixed, even as the Packers are in the home stretch of a season where they have another opportunity to earn home-field advantage for the second consecutive year.

“I can’t make that call right now. We’ll look at it tomorrow and do a film,” Rodgers said. “That would be last resort for sure, but I’ll have to see what kind of setback it was tonight.”

While it appears Rodgers will play through the pain, how will it affect the Packers quarterback going forward? Rodgers is in the midst of another MVP-type season, completing 67.3% of his passes for 3,219 yards with 27 touchdowns to just four interceptions and a 108.8 passer rating. Rodgers leads the league in interception percentage for the fourth straight year, throwing just 15 interceptions over the last four seasons.

The Packers quarterback will be taking it easy on his toe over the next few days. He made sure he didn’t aggravate it even further in celebration Sunday night.

“I was walking. I didn’t run because I was in a little bit of pain,” Rodgers said. “It feels great (winning a primetime game). It was fun to walk off a winner again at Lambeau, we’ve obviously had a lot of success the last 10 or 11 at home we’ve won, so its fun playing here and playing in this rivalry. The fans have been really good and just reciprocating the love right back to them.”
