After the longest regular season in NFL history, it’s finally time for the playoffs, and this year, there’s an added twist to the postseason.
For the first time ever, the NFL playoffs will feature a Monday game, which will happen on Super Wild Card Weekend. That first Monday game will be played on Jan. 17 and will feature the Rams playing host to the Cardinals in what will be the third meeting this year between the two teams. Of course, before we get to that Monday game, we’ll have two wild card games on Saturday and three on Sunday in what will be a jam-packed weekend.
This year’s postseason will be kicking off in Cincinnati, where the Bengals will be hosting either the Patriots or Raiders on Saturday afternoon. The nightcap on Saturday will feature either the Chargers or Patriots traveling to Buffalo for a game against the Bills.
The Sunday slate will kick off at 1 p.m. ET with the Eagles traveling to Tampa to take on Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. The middle game on Sunday will give us a rematch of one of the most storied postseason rivalries in NFL history with the 49ers heading to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. The Sunday night wild card game will then feature the Chiefs hosting either the Raiders or Steelers.
