What to Know
The NC State Wolfpack haven’t won a matchup against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets since Feb. 21 of 2017, but they’ll be looking to end the drought on Tuesday. NC State and Georgia Tech will face off in an ACC battle at 8 p.m. ET at McCamish Pavilion. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
The Wolfpack were close but no cigar this past Saturday as they fell 71-69 to the Pittsburgh Panthers. One thing holding NC State back was the mediocre play of guard Terquavion Smith, who did not have his best game: he finished with only six points on 2-for-12 shooting in his 35 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech came up short against the Virginia Cavaliers this past Saturday, falling 63-53. Guard Michael Devoe (17 points) was the top scorer for Georgia Tech.
NC State is expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Wright State Raiders Dec. 21 easily too and instead slipped up with an 84-70. In other words, don’t count the Yellow Jackets out just yet.
