What to Know

After a three-game homestand, the Cincinnati Bearcats will be on the road. Cincinnati and the UCF Knights will face off in an American Athletic battle at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Addition Financial Arena. The teams split their matchups last year, with UCF winning the first 75-70 at home and the Bearcats taking the second 69-68.

The point spread favored Cincinnati on Sunday, but luck did not. They fell just short of the Temple Owls by a score of 75-71. The defeat was just more heartbreak for Cincinnati, who fell 61-58 when the teams previously met in January. Guard Mika Adams-Woods had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 31 minutes but putting up just six points on 2-for-15 shooting.

Speaking of close games: the East Carolina Pirates typically have all the answers at home, but on Sunday UCF proved too difficult a challenge. The Knights skirted by the Pirates 69-66 thanks to a clutch half-court bomb from guard Darin Green Jr. with 0:01 left to play. UCF’s Green Jr. filled up the stat sheet, shooting 5-for-11 from downtown and finishing with 19 points.

The Bearcats got away with a 69-68 win when the two teams previously met in February of last year. The rematch might be a little tougher for them since the team won’t have home-court advantage. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
