After three games on the road, the Santa Clara Broncos are heading back home. Santa Clara and the Portland Pilots will face off in a West Coast battle at 5 p.m. ET Saturday at Leavey Center. The Broncos might have Portland circled on their calendar as an easy victory since they are a perfect 12-0 since January of 2016.
Santa Clara had enough points to win and then some against the Pepperdine Waves on Thursday, taking their game 89-73. Santa Clara got double-digit scores from five players: guard Jalen Williams (25), guard Giordan Williams (15), guard PJ Pipes (14), center Jaden Bediako (13), and forward Josip Vrankic (10).
Meanwhile, Portland didn’t have too much breathing room in their contest with the Pacific Tigers on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 75-69 win. The Pilots’ guard Chris Austin filled up the stat sheet, picking up 18 points and six assists. Austin’s performance made up for a slower matchup against Pepperdine on Saturday.
The Broncos are the favorite in this one, with an expected 10.5-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.
