The Utah Jazz will try to stop their freefall in the Western Conference standings when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Utah (45-30) has lost four straight games and has dropped from fourth to fifth in the West. They are one game behind the fourth-place Mavericks and a ½ game ahead of the sixth-place Nuggets. Meanwhile Los Angeles (36-39) also is struggling, having lost five in a row, and is almost certainly bound for the play-in tournament as the No. 8 seed. Rudy Gobert (leg) is questionable for Utah, while Paul George (elbow) is questionable for Los Angeles.

Why the Jazz can cover
Utah faces a Clippers team that has struggled mightily recently. Ty Lue’s crew has lost its last three games by an average of 22.0 points and hasn’t stayed within 12 points in any of those three. One of those losses came at Utah on March 18 when the Jazz blew out the Clippers, 121-92.
In addition, Bojan Bogdanovic (calf, questionable) has been on a roll. Over his last four games, the 6-foot-8 forward is averaging 27.3 points a game while shooting 55.6 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. On March 6, he set a Jazz franchise record by hitting 11 3-pointers at Oklahoma City.
Why the Clippers can cover
Los Angeles may get a spark with the potential return of George. The seven-time All-Star has not played since tearing the UCL in his right elbow on Dec. 22. But George played 5-on-5 on Sunday and practiced on Monday, according to coach Ty Lue. George is listed as questionable for Tuesday night.
In addition, Isaiah Hartenstein has played well for the Clippers recently. Over his last six games, the 23-year-old German has averaged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Those are improvements over his season averages of 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
