After an exciting and eventful 2021-22 NBA regular season, the postseason is finally here. As it has for the past couple of years, the league will again feature a play-in tournament to determine the seventh and eighth seeds in both conferences. In the East, the No. 7 Brooklyn Nets and No. 8 Cleveland Cavaliers will square off in one of the two play-in games, while the No. 9 Atlanta Hawks and No. 10 Charlotte Hornets will play in the other.
The winner of the game between the Nets and Cavs will secure the seventh seed, while the loser will play the winner of the game between the Hawks and Hornets to determine the eighth seed in the conference. The eighth seed would go on to face the Miami Heat, who have the top overall seed in the East. The second-seeded Boston Celtics would await the winner of the 7 vs. 8 play-in.

In the West, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Clippers will play in the 7 vs. 8 play-in game to determine that conference’s seventh seed, while the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs will play in the 9 vs. 10 play-in game. The winner of that game will play the loser of the contest between the Wolves and Clippers for the eighth seed. The Phoenix Suns have the top seed in the West after recording a franchise record 64 wins during the regular season.
